How do these dogs do in hot, dry climates? Do they shed?

They do shed a little bit year round, increasing a bit a couple of times a year. Their hair is very short, but you will want to buy more lint rollers for clothes.


Mine does not like the heat of inland (10 miles) San Diego County during warm/hot summer days. It's hard to tell how much of that is heat and how much humidity. Actually, she likes being outside even on hot days, just not being in the sun, and will find shade when we are on walks and try to stay in it. She's buckskin/fawn. I'm guessing that the darker colors, black and chocolate would like the heat even less.


Dogs in general are not tolerant of extreme heat,however this breed is more tolerant then the average canine,but that doesn't mean you should leave it out if its over 105 or so degrees.
