I have a puppy that has bassett in it. I am not sure what else it has but I know it isn't a pure bred. I was hoping someone might be able to tell me what else he may have in him. Aside from the ears not being typical bassett ears you can definitely tell he is. He is almost all black with a white stripe on his face and white chest and belly, a little patch of white on the back of his neck about the size of a babys hand and shaped almost like a triangle. I know this doesn't help much. I don't know what else he is because he was abandoned by his owners and I took him in.
It sounds like my dog. Ours is a basset hound/Scottish terrier mix, they're called Bascotties. Their ears are floppy but not as long as a pure basset. Mine also has long eyebrows, a beard & wirey hair. It makes for a very interesting mix. As he is getting older his skin folds are becoming more prominent, as well as his eyes-more droopy. I hope this helps. Another Bascotties trait is a white belly with black polka dots-somewhat like a pig.
Sounds like a bagle hound. That is a beagle/basset mix. They are a little more lively than a pure basset and tend to bark more. They have a great temperament and love to be loved. They usually do what their human does. If you are active, they will be active. If you are lazy, they will be lazy with you. They can be anywhere on the spectrum (physically) between a basset and a beagle.
If you're having problems training your dog or getting control, you should read our review of DogProblems.com. Adam will do whatever it takes to help you whip your dog into shape. I've used them to help with my Great Dane as well as help friends train their dogs. It's the first place I go to help answer users Questions. Many training issues are too extensive to answer in this forum, which is why I refer a lot of the load to his site.
